Music Ministry

I was born Sydney Michael Hudson on the 1st of August 1966 in the rural town of Upington in the North Western part of South Africa. Born to Godly parents - Peter and Maureen - and younger brother to Chelayne, I was privileged to be raised in a house where I saw the awesome love of God in my parents' lives and where the joy of knowing Jesus was part of everyday life.

In 1985 I matriculated from Upington High School with classical music as one of my major subjects. I also completed 7 practical and 5 theoretical grades in classical music at UNISA. After finishing school, I did my military training and became an officer with the rank of First Lieutenant in the South African Defence Force.

In 1991 I packed and left for Europe, backpacking through 11 countries. What an experience! Shortly after my return from Europe, I attended our church's annual conference at Irene in Pretoria where I met the most beautiful woman in the world. I married Renè on the 31st of July 1993. At that time we became very involved in the full time music ministry to which God called me at the age of 17.

In March 1999 we moved from Johannesburg to Cape Town and in April the same year, God blessed us with a little girl - Janey. She was truly a gift from God!

In 2000 I became the part-time Music Director of Faith Tabernacle and the position became permanent in April 2001. Ever since then God has blessed me with a dedicated and loyal praise & worship team which I love dearly and respect greatly.

The newest addition to my family is my son, Peter, born on the 2nd of August 2004.

There's an old chorus that says: "I am what I am by the grace of the Lord, and all that I ever shall be". I thank God for His faithfulness towards me and my family.
